I loved having my mom come to visit this summer. This was the first time she has visited me since Anna was born, and this time I didn't even have to confiscate her phone to get her to pay attention to me.
Sometimes I have an inner only child, and this time, that inner only child was truly appeased. She gave me head rubs, took walks with me, picked berries with me, and admired my child. And I have to say, I loved to be in the hostess role to be able to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the persons who for so long put up with me growing up. Now that I am primarily in charge of most household chores, I appreciate what a rotten helper I was growing up.
here is my cute my cute mom and step dad. She is actually a born and bred northwest girl, born and raised in Portland, OR.
she is the perfect berry picking partner. She understands the true religion of picking raspberries in the fog of a Washington morning, and having to wear your sweater because the early August mornings can be a bit chilly!
how is that for an Perfect Spider web! Thank you Charlotte, for spinning your web.
There is no pride quite like "I just picked 10 lbs of berries and only paid 20 bucks for it" pride.
We drove up to Canada, saw waterfalls, went to art festivals, played games, made jam, and ate lots of good food.
I know my mom is not perfect, but she comes awfully close in my book. And she is the #1 thing I miss being here in Washington. I can learn to live without almost anything or anyone else. But not her. So I have instructed her to live forever. She is the only person I get to be 10 years old around again.
