A Ward Winning Chili

Celestial Hell. That is what I dubbed Richard's chili after tasting it for the first time on Friday night. Just the right amount of smoky heat burning the back of my throat while the flavors danced tantalizingly on my tongue. MMMMmmmmm just thinking about it makes me sweat and smile at the same time. And I wasn't the only one to think it is the greatest thing to grace a bowl since Kellog's created the first bowl of corn flakes. Richard entered his chili in our ward's first ever Chili cook-off and he won first prize. All the other chilis bowed to Richard's chili (if they'd have had knees that is) and acknowledged its greatness. Okay, all hyperbole aside-- there were 16 awesome chili entries from our ward (props to the BYU 62nd ward and its culinary prowess), but Richard makes some dang awesome chili. And it has a bona fide secret ingredient, which of course, we cannot tell you (such information is far too dangerous in the wrong hands). I am so glad I am married to this chili man!!
