Recently I was thinking about the books I have rented from the library in the past month. Here they are:
Julia Child's "My life in France"
Cooking at Home with the Culinary Institute of America
How to Cook Everything Vegetarian
American Pie: my search for the perfect pizza
The Pizza Bible
Pizza: 60 recipes to cook at home
Sleep and Dream of Happy things (Yo Gabba Gabba)
Its Pajama time.
Hmmmm. You form your own conclusions. But all I can say is that making pizza has become the thrill of my week (and its not that my life is boring, its that Pizza is so freakin' AWESOME). I want to be excellent at pizza making. I am mediocre in a lot of things, and some areas of domestic life I completely skip (Richard irons his own clothes and I have never owned a sewing machine), but I want to shock the pants off my family with my pizza abilities. Is that too much to ask?
Two questions:
1) so what does your list say about you, and
2) what is the best pizza you have ever made or eaten?

My list consists of movies that I wanted to see but am too cheap to go to the theatre as well as books about certain topics concerning my kids. Occasionally I have a book on hold that I want to read.
And the best pizza we have made is what the kids help me with. I have the dough ready for them, the items that could go on the pizza all laid out and let them create their own. They are more willing to try new things that way and I love that they are helping.
I make pita pizzas all the time (which is probably mediocre for you), but we love them!
I brown them. Then top with white cheese (depending on what I'm in the mood for--mozzarella, gruyere, white cheddar, etc.) caramelized onions, potatotes, butternut squash, pears, bake it, and then top it with a salad of prosciutto, arugula, balsamic and olive oil. Delicious.
that pizza sounds heavenly-- I think I have to try it!
Nothing sounds mediocre about it Alli!
I love thin crust pizza. For simple, pepperoni and mushroom or a veggies. I also love BBQ chicken.
Nate likes thin crust but he says it doesn't fill him up. But I am totally going to have to have you teach me when you come to visit. I love that you make your own pizzas!
I have a Thai Chicken pizza recipe and a bbq chicken recipe that are both outstanding! Also good? Take your ranch dressing, mix in a 1/2 tsp garlic powder or 1 tsp of minced garlic. Top with fresh tomato, onion, and bell pepper. Little cheese is needed.
