Christmas part 4: The Monuments of Christmas

Richard's happy place is Colorado National Monument.

he likes to go up there to think-- I can only assume about me! (What else would he think about, standing in the sunshine, on one of God's most beautiful creations? Yeah, he was probably thinking about me!)
we came to Colorado National Monument when we were only just dating and took many pictures just like this one.

one of the best gifts I got for Christmas was two weeks of sunshine. I need it up here in Seattle.
another monument, though a little less timeless and enduring. I made great icicles though. I have a natural talent for icicles. The "X" is to help Santa know where to land his sleigh.

It turns out that gingerbread is not that structurally sound as building material. I think it is the equivalent of the house built of sticks in "the three little pigs" (though it still trumps the house built of straw). The roof began caving in. Who needs a chimney when you have a huge gaping hole in the middle of your house. Santa would not even need to stop his sleigh. He could just slow down and dump the presents while he flies by!
